  Re: Two New GBC Modules..

I built it last night. My earlier problem was in trying to use 4-stud axles to hold the pulleys in their offset position -- this is hard to describe, but the gist of it is the axles sometimes got in the way of other pulleys and warped their (...) (17 years ago, 15-Aug-07, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Your train is incredible -- it doesn't stop for loading or unloading. That makes it fast -- the fastest GBC train ever built. I also like the rocker, which is something I've wanted to try building but never got around to. Your entire layout is (...) (17 years ago, 16-Aug-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Serenity, an autonomous NXT-based boat

The City Harbor boat hull is plenty big to hold an RCX or an NXT. It could hold three of them end to end, actually. There are studs on the bottom of the hold and along the top, so you could build a cage for an NXT or just stick the RCX directly onto (...) (17 years ago, 19-Sep-07, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Re: Quirks with advanced technic cars (4WD, steering, suspension)

(...) The 8880 Supercar has all-wheel steering so that both rear wheels turn less than the front ones. That's not quite the same as Ackerman correction, but it helps. I've seen Ackerman steering correction done in LEGO, but of course I can't find it (...) (17 years ago, 19-Sep-07, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Wonderful design tidbits PDF - anybody else impressed?

This is a very well-designed book. He's following LEGO's lead in not using words to describe the pictures and instead lets the pictures describe themselves. I really like his color choices. They make identifying parts very easy. This is a subtle (...) (17 years ago, 4-Oct-07, to lugnet.technic)

I also noticed that clutch gear was rubbing on the beam, but I found that the radial pattern wasn't as bad as the text side. I just pushed it a tiny bit away from the beam and it seems to be working fine. The only mod I've made so far was switching (...) (17 years ago, 29-Oct-07, to lugnet.technic)

LEGO town/city has always been too action-oriented, and that simply doesn't appeal to girls . . . at least not to the extent that action appeals to boys. Sets that (...)
