Re: Robolab, byte codes and assembler

(...) Don't run it too quickly or too slowly. (URL) Um, that's all I know, besides using BrickOS which has code to make it more accurate. You mentioned that already. Actually, now that I think about it, BrickOS might be able to run assembly language (...) (21 years ago, 26-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab, FTX)

Why are there no Star Wars pens in the database?

There are currently 14 Star Wars pens, the newest of which are very difficult to find. I'm wondering why these, and actually any pens from the LEGO Writing System, are not included in the LUGNET database. I'll even offer to admin a LEGO Writing (...)   Re: Hailfire Droid -- Why Not a Technic Set?

My opinion is that when a set comes with 0 LEGO bricks, there's no question that it's a (very recent) TECHNIC set.* I'm looking at my own Hailfire Droid I just got for Christmas, and I just can't find any. It's all liftarms and axles. Come to think (...) (21 years ago, 29-Dec-03, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.starwars)

Re: How do you guys do it?

(...) When I do sculpture kinds of things, I find LEGO graph paper extremely useful. Search Google to get some. Also build stuff in LDraw format when you don't have the pieces you need. (21 years ago, 30-Dec-03, to lugnet.build)

Re: Have *YOU* contacted LEGO customer service re: the gray color change?

(...) Along the same lines, how about someone writes a polite complaint letter and posts it on LUGNET? Then everyone could copy it, print it, sign it, and mail it. Would LEGO's receiving hundreds of identical letters be as influential as LEGO's (...) (21 years ago, 19-Jan-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

(...) Your page should get linked on the main Robotics page. There aren't a lot of entries. I'll post mine as soon as I find the receipt to get the purchase date. (21 years ago, 23-Jan-04, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: RIS-kit & capacitor

(...) I recall reading somewhere that the solar panel and the capacitor use a maximum of 4.5V, so they aren't very useful for anything. Everything else in the TECHNIC/Mindstorms system is 9V. (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.robotics)

  What happened to FBTB.net?!

I went to FBTB just now and saw this: No web site is configured at this address. That's it. Nothing but that single line. I think it's equivalent to a 404 error. What happened? (21 years ago, 25-Feb-04, to lugnet.starwars) !

  OFF files ?

  please add set 9833

9833 is the A/C Adaptor for LEGO Mindstorms RCX bricks you can buy from Pitsco. It's part of the Dacta line. It says so on the box, too. (20 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: please add set 9833

(...) I just opened the one I got today to find that it outputs 12V, not 9V. That's weird. It is a Dacta product, after all, so it's technically not part of LEGO Mindstorms. The copyright date on the packaging says 1996. So, what I said before isn't (...) (20 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.admin.database, FTX)

  A/C Adapter for RCX 1.0

I bought an RCX with an AC adapter jack and an AC adapter from Pitsco. They arrived today. But when I opened the adapter I saw that it outputs 12V, not 9V. It's an old Dacta AC adapter from 1996 (copyright date on packaging). I already tried using (...) (20 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

Re: A/C Adapter for RCX 1.0

(...) Wait, are you saying the RCX runs on AC power? You are right that the 12V adapter I got puts out AC. I didn't notice that before -- I thought it was an AC to DC converter. Then I checked my train adapter, and it's identical to the one I just (...) (20 years ago, 31-Mar-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

I must also be blind. In tiny raised print just above the port on the RCX, it says "9-12V~". Had I seen that I would never have asked my original question in the first place. But I'm still curious about whether the RCX runs on AC or DC power. Does (...) (20 years ago, 31-Mar-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, FTX)

Re: [Q] Remote control code ?

I'm lazy . . . would someone please write a version of the program that works with the LEGO remote control? Using the remote control is cooler than driving it with a flashlight. And with a flashlight you can't make it turn. (20 years ago, 31-Mar-04, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)
