  Re: Thoughts on 1999 sets

(...) Maybe my hopes were too high. Compare to (URL) for example -- the Lego design is way too stubby and lumpy compared to the long, sleek "real" X-wing. (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.general)

  Re: I'm baaaack!

What timing! I live near S. Boulder & S. Public. Unfortunately, I am just getting ready to move. My wife wants me to put my LEGOs into storage. I'll have to save a couple of boxes of choice pieces so that I don't go nuts during the transition. (...) (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.loc.us.co.den)

Re: Cool robot platform and a question...

Clem, In a message dated 98-11-03 01:04:33 EST, you write: << I started probing around for continuity to try and figure out what's what and I didn't get very far. >> This is the right place to start.   Re: Thoughts on 1999 sets

(...) I like the X-wing design. I think it is quite well done. I can see it will need some modification for retractable landing gear, though. So does the Y-wing. I think the Y-wing is the best design of the ships they show. I like the TIE fighter (...) (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.general)

Re: LUGnet historical moment -- (was: Got 1999 mini catalog!)

(...) I've certainly done the same as well. For awhile things got too busy at work for me to have time to keep up with RTL. Then lugnet came online, and I basically stopped going to RTL. I much prefer the way lugnet is organized. (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Clear plastic "tackle boxes"

(...) I did that once, awhile ago. It was easier than explaining my sorting system to my sons, and expecting them to remember it & live by it. Steve (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Line follower kit

Hi Dave, I have a line tracker kit and also the IRPD infrared proximity detector kits from Lynxmotion constructed but do not know how to connect them to the handyboard. (...) Oops. Not to imply that Larry is charging for his service. 'Cause I don't think he is. Steve (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: I-Escrow service

(...) Depends. How much do they charge for the service? And if I had to pay for an escrow/intermediary service, I'd rather pay a another lego-head. Steve (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Cool robot platform and a question...

Thanks to the help of Todd Graham (thanks Todd), I've found a really cool, low cost, RC robot platform. It's the same platform used by USC's 1997 RoboCup entry, the Nikko Hercules! It has 4 hard plastic drive wheels, dual drive motors, differential (...) (27 years ago, 3-Nov-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Mindstorms in Entertainment Weekly
