I've noticed this several times during my Lego career, but while browsing my stash of 2x4 bricks I noticed it again and thought I'd ask. The tubes on some of my older bricks have slots in them. I seem to recall realizing this years ago, thinking at (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) The Target across the street from my apartment was the same way. The amazing this was that it was NOT clearence prices that emptied their shelves. I'll chime in on a slightly different vein. Rather than us telling them what we want (which is good) and hoping they can come up with it (which may turn out disappointing), how about if they tell us what they can easily offer, what they can offer (...) (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)
