R2D2 (DDK) with RCX : First Look

Hi all, I'm glad to introduce you a first draft/beta R2D2/DDK with an RCX done tonight. You can have a look at (URL) Quite Perfect (NQP :-), but I think it can be a good way to do something nice for all of us, and get it as an idea start something (...)   Re: How old are you?

I'm 34, and while I played with Legos as a child I haven't really been involved in them for the past 20 years or so. The reason I'm getting back into Mindstorms now is that I was about to rebuild a 6.270 board that my cat broke, and decided to go (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: IR Control

(...) Perhaps I should add Apple Event support to MacNQC - it wouldn't be too difficult. On the other hand, it may be more appropriate to build a smaller stand-alone app that serves as a bridge between Apple Events and RCX communication. Dave Baum (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Roboarm.nqh

(...) I'm glad you're enjoying the book. Not including more information about where to put include files was definitely an oversight - I'll update the book's web pages when I get a chance. Dave (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  FOTW: Tchnic Space Shuttle

At the Golden Gate Zany Brainy (I didn't even know it existed), they have Technic Space Shuttles for 50% off (so, $80.24 incl. tax). There were 5 left when I was there. They also had set 8000 Pit Droid, but no other Y2K sets. --Bram Bram Lambrecht / (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.oh.cle)

  Re: Longest MOC

(...) I guess Seaborn Brick wouldn't count, right now she is at 6ft (Longer than Terry Cruise's Titanic). And the dock I built for her, only reaches a little way past the bow. Right now I have $100.00 (ahhh Grandparents, so nice of them to give me (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Why not wait

(...) Ran out of time is most likely -- I know they certainly were frantically rendering scenes for it on the supercomputer here at BU only three weeks before it was in theatres. (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: 2000 Lego

(...) Well, if you don't mind a bit of a drive, the Whitehall and Easton Walmarts both have had smatterings of 2000 sets, including at one point or another, all the Star Wars that's out, most of the castle, some Arctic, Millennium Throwbot, and Pit (...)   Correct Castle 6098 (not 6091)

Well, I found all of the new 2000 sets at Wal-Mart under $60, and all the $60 and up sets for 2000 at Toys R Us. I have picked up all of the Castle series, including two each of 6026, 6094, 6095 and all the Bulls. I have finally put them all (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Mindstorms Wishlist

(...) It only seems that way. What you're getting in the midway point is a 'flutter' as the contact is not quite made. It's not something you can do much useful with. (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Why not wait

(...) Watching the previews or end credits or something (I don't remember - I *tried* to put that movie out of my mind), you see that the Spacemonkey grows up to be a big monstrous space monkey when they cross continuums. But either they ran out of (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Longest MOC

(...) I've built a surface vessel that was about 80 studs long, which is the biggest thing I've ever built, but I know, it's puny by many others' standards. I wish I would've finished the thing, I was almost done with the exterior when I tore it (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.space)

  Site down for the day

My site, will be down for the day on 12/23. Repairs are being made on our electrical systems and the power will be going on and off all day. Sorry, Chris (URL) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

Re: Is a CDROM really necessary for mindstorms?

From the sounds of it, you have another computer, why don't you just see if you can network the computers via a null modem or a small ethernet network. Then just share the drive. Clint Rutkas Fight Reality (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Arkansas AFOL Rollcall

(...) I'd say lonely is right! But at least I don't have share my Lego's! I'm thinking of asking Todd if he will change lugnet.loc.us.ar to lugnet.loc.us.partyofone. What do you think? -rob (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ar)

  Re: IR Control

For PC to RCX communication, I've made a program called the Real-Time Interface. Lets you basically control your Mindstorm unit in a few ways including via Joystick. Sends back information from the sensors and so on, also lets you run programs from (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)
