  Re: AT-ST POVRAY Rendering

(...) Shaun: The AT-ST is great! I hope that Lego does such a good job on their design when they produce one in 2001 (I hope...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: The updated PARTS.LST online?

(...) Try (URL). It's not searchable (yet), but it is browseable. Steve (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: General Comments to MLCad

(...) It would be better (IMO) to format non-LDraw information as LDraw-style meta-commands, and keep everything in the DAT format. That gives the file the widest transportability between programs. Steve (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Transmission made from standard Technic parts

(...) Similar to the 8860 and 8865 designs, here's a very simple and compact one: As a carrier, have two 'beams' with 3 holes with 1.5 stud spacing (i.e. 2 standard beams, any size, and a 1-beam between them) with 5 studs of space between them. In (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)

  Re: parts list reference.

(...) Tom, Why did you post this, especially to .cad.dat.ideas? The data has nothing to do with the charter for l.c.d.i. Maybe it would have been better to point people to the source of your data, which I believe is Lutz's part list. Steve (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas)

  Re: New sets in Dallas!

(...) Brent: To the best of my knowledge 2000 SW sets haven't appeared in Houston yet, and I'm becoming desperate! Did that Target in Plano have a lot of stock? I might either drive to Plano or have a relative pick one up on her way into Houston. Do (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Observation on the 8000 Pit Droid

While building the 8000 Pit Droid (which is pretty cool, btw) the other day, I noticed something: The round disc piece used as the nose is none other than one of the new Robo Rider wheels in green. I was glad to see this, as it seemed silly to (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Powering trains w/ RCX

(...) This is the big 'down side' of the 1.5. The computers themselves are identical, and you can run 1.5 software on the older brick. For the educational market (dacta stuff), Lego are still supplying all the units with the jacks. The suggestion is (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  8520 wheel type?

I noticed that 8520 has (8440)-race-car-style tires as feet. The wheels are blurred in all box and catalog pictures, such that one can (intentionally?) not see whether the wheels are the old-shape metallized wheels as in the yellow 1999 racer, or (...) (25 years ago, 20-Dec-99, to lugnet.technic)
