  More Directional transmissions...

At the risk of boring folks with my mechanical tinkerings... I want to create a transmission such that drivng the input shaft one way gives me very slow rotation on the output, but driving it the other way gives me fast rotation in the opposite (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  UKLUG Prototype online

That was quick! Some thoughts: Another section will be needed for the Jamabalaya project. (Also known as the J-Box). Why are BB and The Entertainer on the title bar with UKLUG? They can also be found in the Shopping section. Just thought it might (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Unified UK Lego Web Page/Community?

(...) Thanks. We are still discussing whether to change the blue brick into a green brick to make it more Italian :-) (...) Thanks again. I'm going to look for it. (...) I don't agree on this point. Almost everybody in the Italian newsgroup speaks a (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.loc.it)

  Re: Lugnet Loves Cats!

(...) Hmmm... how much room does an elephant need ? I've got 20 acres here, well 18 if you take out 2 for the house. I know there is a place that cares for aged circus elephants about 40 miles from me. Someday I'll have to stop in and learn more (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.people)

  Re: UKLUG Prototype online

(...) Well it is it's temporary home for now until I get around to registering www.uklug.org.uk TENTE has the same outer brick dimensions as LEGO you know. Any TENTE you want to get rid of send it my way. (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: UKLUG Prototype online

(...) You are welcome to completely redesign the logo if you want - I tried the bricks you speak of first but it made the letter way too thin compared to the rest of the logo - it didn't look right. (...) I remembered to put the :-0 in this time. (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Outlet Mall Locations?

Both LEGO stores are in true "outlet" malls. An "outlet" mall is different from a "regular/retail" mall. It may have the same "stores" but their content is different. It's typically last years clothes or in limited quantities (closeout) or in some (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Enough trans-antifreeze!

8 Years is probably right: EP1 = 1999 release EP3 = 2005 release They'll probably want to sell EP3 sets for at least a couple of years, so, let's say through the end of 2006 1999 to 2006 = 8 years. Maybe longer, could go through 2007 easily using (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) I just added a statement on that page noting that direct links to the parts images are OK. Just so there's no confusion. :-) --Todd (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: ordinery vs. action minifigs

(...) Is that the torso with the notched collar? Seems like that one was in a bunch of colors... Steve (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) No, it's OK: people can link directly to the images just as they did before at the previous location. On the splash page, it even says how to refer to the images at the new URL. --Todd (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Merchandising (was: Re: Any one know these email addresses?)

(...) Christmas+Birthday cards: (Creating a scene that contains images of minifigs, as long as it isn't too close to actual TLC merchandise is okay, IIRC) LUGNET Sets: Like the CEKs, but on a slightly bigger scale. Richard (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Full range of colors?

(...) The LDraw FAQ is pretty comprehensive when it comes to the LDraw colors. LDAO does have a color chart, showing all possible allowed combinations for LDraw, but the colors are actually generated from LDLite. BUT, I *think* I posted a "color (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Unified UK Lego Web Page/Community?

(...) I like the logo - it was the right choice out of the 2, quite simple but cool. (...) That's cool. (...) There is already a website with all of those around somewhere - do a search for rtlspeak. Saves you having to find meanings to the more (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.loc.it)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) Ooo, didn't think about that one. Hmm. I guess you'll need to copy the images off to your own server. That's too bad. BTW, the primary reason I wanted to move off the WorldNet site was because I could never get an FTP connection to do updates. (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Partsref is Moving to LUGNET

(...) Well, like it says on the page, "To reference a part image, when you already know the LDraw number for that part, use the following URL format. (URL).gif" In other words, linking directly to these images is OK in this case. (...) These are (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.db.brictionary)

Re: Merchandising (was: Re: Any one know these email addresses?)

(...) It's mostly a random site I plucked from yahoo after 5 mins search, so it's not really a recommendation as I have no idea how good they are! There's probably a better deal somewhere. But if you do go then: (URL) possibly better as that's the (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Dimensions of a SD40 and GP35

Well, Chris- A GP35 was 56' 2"; an SD45 was 65' 8" (EMD used the longer underframe of SD45 as a standard, which was then used for the SD38, SD39, and SD40). The main difference, however, is that the GPs were a B-B (4-4) wheel configuration, while (...) (25 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)
