Re: Unified UK Lego community idea

(...) I have no idea about such regulations, but we quite happily brought 3 suitcases and 3 carry-on (between 2 of us), and I am *positive* that at least one of those suitcases was more than 75 pounds. The only requirement I'm aware of (not counting (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: 600 dpi scans of 2000 Catalog Insets

(...) John, You mentioned in your last post about how the back looks the same as the front and how nothing special was done about the engine. I might be wrong, but I think that the close-ups that Jeff scanned show the side of the Falcon. You can (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Polybags

<looks around> Is anybody here......... Anyway, on with the show... Does anyone else reuse the polybags from LEGO sets? I'm currently packing away a very large collection of sets and when packing a set, I first put the pieces in an appropriately (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.fun.crafts)

  Re: Tilt

Hi David ... There are two types of switches commonly available. One is a small plastic box with a metal ball inside ... when it rolls in one direction it touches two contacts and closes the circuit ... tilt it the other direction and the ball rolls (...)   RE: Tilt

That should be trivial. I've used one of those mercury-bubble-in-a-glass-tube switches from a thermostat in a model railroad application before. Check (URL) for the story and a picture. It should work just like a touch sensor. However, it is fairly (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Tilt

Ayyone made a tilt sensor yet out of an old switch or an old thermostat? It wouldn't be a linear function. It would be like a touch sensor, reporting if the tilt angle was reached. Just an idea.... (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I back Simon on this one. If imposters from the US or any other group are banned from the Lugnet.uk group then I'm throwing away my "Up the Queen" tea towel and "I love Great Britain" toilet brush holder in protest! Sanjay -- "If you don't have a (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Donation Fun: Christmas toys

With unlimited time, the answer seems to me to design your own small sets from some set of larger sets you can get cheaply, and give those. With limited time, I dunno. Tough question. (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.fun.community)

  Christmas tree decorations

Hi, For the past couple of years I've been decorating my christmas tree with LEGO. Last year I used all of the Shell promo sets with the Batwing flyer (2539) as the "Angel" on top. It looked great and I plan to do it again this year with traditional (...) (25 years ago, 30-Nov-99, to lugnet.fun.holiday)

They don't even have to be suitcases. 2 weeks in a row I scrounged up suitably large (for my nefarious purposes)/small (to pass restrictions) boxes and stuffed them with stuff to bring back from Ottawa. I remember spotting some of the 1999 Adventurers stuff at a TRU here around Thanksgiving last year. Let me see if I can find the post... Here it is: (URL) it looks like it was early December.
