Re: Anyone using motors, etc. in Castle creations?

(...) I'm not using one because I don't have one. ;) If I ever see a train with enough castle-applicable parts to interest me, at a good discount, I may get one. Until then, I shall rely on the battery box. Unless there's some altruistic train-head (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

Legalities of reverse-engineering (was: Re: Thoughts on NQC for Scout)

[Disclaimer: IANAL!] (...) Hmm, I'm not so sure. Did everyone actually *really* agree not to reverse- engineer it? Look closer at the license agreement[1]...it says that you may not: (ii) modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble (...)   Re: M:Tron VS. Ice Planet.........

M:tron, ofcourse. They would deploy their Mega Core magentizers (at least 5000) and just drive over the Ice planet bases. Sure, the Ice planet has got Deep Freeze defenders, but M:tron has small, fast ships like the Pulsar charger and the particle (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.space)

Re: LEGO in Toy Story 2?

(...) LEGO and Disney have very close ties (and it is not just Winnie the Pooh LEGO). However, LEGO and Mattel have EXTREMELY close ties, which is why Mattel does get the advantage. (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: US S@H Specials Nov 22 - 28, 1999

Make sure that you are calling the main number (1-800-835-4386) during the hours that they are open (8-8 I believe). Otherwise you might be rolling over to people who don't know as much. I've placed 2 orders for phone specials, one this week and one (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) It would probably work well in the renderers, but you would need to create a new editor (LEdit type program) optimized for K'Nex pieces instead of LEGO pieces... You would probably have to use a smaller scale, too, because K'nex constructions (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: LEGO in Toy Story 2?

You would think with the Winnie the Pooh products, they would have let Lego slip in there. That is a shame! (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

I just got two rolls of film back with more pics of my castle creations. Seeing as I just spent the last week laying out a 32 page mailorder catalog at my job, I wasn't too excited to spend more hours posting all of the pics, but at least I got a (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Enough trans-antifreeze!

(...) Dan, Think of it this way, By the time they are done with the Star Wars license, the next Space line will be fresh and new like that first run in way back when it first began. Add in all the practice the lego folks will have gotten, and it (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: legOS 0.2.2 dsound_play ?

One of my first goals for the RCX was to try and get it to speak. I talked to Markus about this a long time ago. At the time, he had written the speaker driver but was unable to get much more than noise to come out of it. Perhaps the digital (...)   Re: Anyone using motors, etc. in Castle creations?

(...) plug-in transformer from one of the train sets? Not only will this support a large load of lights, but you will actually have complete remote control over the whole light array and never needlessly drain batteries. Dan (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Lego/playmobile ramble

(...) should mention that (...) Despite using larger pieces, I believe Playmobil is still aimed at the same ages as LEGO System. Playmobil 1-2-3 is the DUPLO equivlant. What I like about Playmobil is, as you mentioned, variety. Thier current Town (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

Alors! (was Re: lack of interest in basic stamp and basicx)

Jonathan, I would suggest finding amateur (ham) radio operators near you and asking what book they recommend and how they got it.   Re: Scout vs. RIS 1.5

Ah, one more thing that isn't mentioned too much. Most of the more interesting sensors on the RCX are powered (light, rotation). The Scout can't handle these. Consider a life restricted to touch sensing. Not unworkable, but the equation 3 = 2+1 (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) It would make sense to package the clone parts together by brand. (...) Good thought. It probably wound work quite well, just like Lego. My remaining opinion is - try to stay with the original intention of LDraw, and lets not let it be (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
