Ok Peoples, This is one question that i've never really seen addressed anywhere. We all know lego swtiched from 12V to 9V in the early 90's..but why? If using the rails to conduct energy is the reason, they could've stuck to using 12V on rails. Was (...) (25 years ago, 13-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)

I just picked up two of the 1989 US / 1994 UK McDonalds Promo sets (1646 - Land Laser and 1649 - Sea Skimmer) without instructions. I've found that shooting a laser pointer at a bicycle reflector gives a good enough return (to a light sensor right next to the laser source) to be detected. You can use this for navigation, as the RCX can turn around and find strategically mounted (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Had worse than a missing piece happen tonite. As I was completeing the 4020 Fireboat I was lucky to get in a auction a while ago....I found that the stickers had been cut in half, and they were unusable. ARGH ! ! ! ! ! But at least the 4031 (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

I'm just curious if anyone has ever built their newly-bought lego set only to discover a piece is missing. I've often been positive partway through that I was missing one, but I always ended up finding it. On the other hand, I *always* have a small (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)
