Re: Use PC's IR port instead of IR tower?

The basic difference between PCs/PalmPilots/WinCE IR ports and the RCX is a different physical transmission/modulation protocol. In the PC etc case the commonly used format is described by the IrDa standard (www.irda.org) where seperate IR pulses (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Help on upgrading MS 1.0 to 1.5

Could someone explain the upgrade process? Where I am, none of the retailers have Mindstorms 1.5 in it (which is fine with me, since all the advice here is that you're better off buying 1.0 and then upgrading to 1.5). However, at all the places I (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I'm going to be at the Construction Site on the 20th

In case anyone's interested, I'm planning on being at The Construction Site on NOV 20 between 10:00 and 10:30. (...) Looking at the pics, I kinda doubt it. The T-Rex doesn't have any spinal ridges like on the Dragon tail. It might not have a moveable tail, either. Personally, I don't care.   Re: Two Han heads?

Nice try hoping, John, but if you were to study the catalogs as much as I do, you'd realize that all it is is TLC's common trick of using one picture, and when they get bored of using it they just mirror it. On some sets it's easy to notice 'cause (...) (25 years ago, 12-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) year (...) Where did this come from? I haven't seen anything that says "Futbol" in the catalog, and frankly, I don't think Lego would be dumb enough to refer to the soccer sets this way in the US. It would create way to much confusion.
