  12v train wheels.

I have a few 7745 sets. One of the sets has wheels with a red 'hub' on the end of the axles whereas the others have black. Are these the wrong wheels or are they just a variation? (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 6097 at Kay-Bee for $39.99

(...) I didn't notice any, but I can't promise they weren't there. I went by with a castle objective, and upon finding them there, did a quick retreat before more $$$ floated out of my wallet. The Lego spending has been quite high the last few (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.us.nc.win, lugnet.loc.us.nc)

  Movie Licences

If Lego is moving more towards 'play' than 'build' as some as suggested, by which they mean more 'themed' sets with lots of theme specific parts, but less actual bricks, then perhaps we will see more movie licences like Star Wars to make the sets (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Cheshire shopping report - 6289 down south too!

TRU, Chatham had 6289s priced at under 30GBP... I grabbed the last two (plus a dozen How Wheels too), and the whole lot came in at under 50GBP!!! 4 quid off the first 6289, 6 quid off the second (?) then bogof (buy-one-get-one-free) on the HWs - (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

In lugnet.starwars, Christopher Lannan writes: {{SNIP}} (...) Weeerrrgggg.......you folk are making me feel -old-. I'm 51 going on 25 <grin>.   Auction Advice?

I would like to hold an auction on lugnet but have not done it before. Does anyone have any advice for a first-timer?   Re: New Castle Idea

(...) I'm just finishing The Hobbit and about to start Lord of the Rings, and I agree that it would make a fantastic subject for Lego Castle. Even with existing parts, one could start a descent Hobbit theme. I know: no Goblins, but perhaps Elves (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Age average

(...) I guess I'll chime in here as well- 27, born in 72. I used to love Gerald ford as a child. So much so that I drew a picture of him in red crayon and sent it to him. I got a letter from one of his secretaries and a brochure about the WhiteHouse (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.people)

Re: 1st Annual International LEGO Train Conference

(...) Let's see....both the lady-wife and myself, so that's two. She's really an O-scale fan (Lionel) but she -understands- my own fascination with Lego trains (and other sets). (...) Best for us, as we're in SoCal already... (...) Still OK. (...) (...) (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Castle Idea

(...) It would be cool, but I'd rather LEGO limited their licensed building sets. Less is more in this case. I'd much rather see cool MOC LoTR. Steve (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)

Hi All, I was hoping to get a ruff idea of how many would attend, so please e-mail me or RE: if you are more then vaguely interested.   Re: Flash Speeder Nose

(...) I don't think it's a new piece; but if you notice, the new 6-wide cockpit from Comlink Cruiser (the space port $6 radar car) looks like it will mate to the top surface. Yay! LFB. (25 years ago, 11-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars)
