  Re: Check out that cool

(...) I would have, but I don't check the lego site often because I think the layout is crappy and difficult to get around in, esp the java stuff, which for some reason my browser doesn't like. If anyone can help me with that, just post it over in (...) (25 years ago, 10-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: My Analysis of the 2000 Sets

(...) Thanks Erin! That plane looks, simply put, INCREDIBLE! While LEGO still has a long way to go, I say 2000 is the best year they've had since 1996. The Soccer game itself is not great, but I love those buses! And the Adventurers are great! They (...) (25 years ago, 10-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Stallman mentions Lego in newspaper article

(...) True. It's my belief: "Those who can, do." "Those who can't, teach." "Those who can't teach become journalists." Actually, I don't believe that part about teaching. I know many excellent teachers. I can't say the same of journalists or (...) (25 years ago, 10-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.general)

  Re: Another 2000 Rant

(...) Okay, it is probably a coincidence, but maybe it isn't. Jurrasic Park 3 comes out this July. (...) Compared to last year, Town has been un-juniorized. No where near perfect, but much better than last year. And you have to love those raised (...) (25 years ago, 10-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

  Cheshire shopping report

Just a couple of things I noticed recently: Warrington TRU has some RBRs (6289). They were on the top shelf, without prices, but IIRC they were about GBP50 last time I bought one. Cheshire Oaks Toy World had 6 5561 Bigfoots (feet?) for GBP50 apiece (...) (25 years ago, 10-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

My thoughts on the new Castle line

General Comments (mostly negative): 1. The Maiden appears to come only in the largest set (6091) - arghh! 2. Visored helmets are back!! 3. Why did they do the tower peaks in blue again - I'd kill for those in red!! 4. Stained glass decal - there is (...) (25 years ago, 10-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)
