My thoughts on the new Castle line

General Comments (mostly negative):
1. The Maiden appears to come only in the largest set (6091) - arghh!
2. Visored helmets are back!!
3. Why did they do the tower peaks in blue again - I'd kill for those in red!!
4. Stained glass decal - there is no way this is transparent - arghh!
5. The Lion's heads are cool.
6. The Chicago Bulls shields are a bit much - look like an ad for Ponderosa
Steak House.
7. Again - too many variations on a catapult
8. I hate the bloody eye minifig heads
9. The windowed tower specialized pieces would have been much better if they
could join back to back and be symetrical.
10. 7 sets and only 1 building!!
11. Horns added to the dungeon masters helmets are hideous.
Specific comments by set:
6026 - 1 king + 1 knight + 1 horse + 1 wall = 1 useless set.
6091 - the big set. Looks like a ton of wall elements, towers and that
gigantic burp. Piece count will probably be around 600 (150 in the catapult).
The design is not bad - I'd like to see some more height to the actual
building. 16 extreme sloped corners in blue!
6094 - 1 jail cell + 1 arch with a tower on top = useless
6095 - another useless facade of a building + 3 minifigs and a rotating
jousting machine - yeah right.
4806 - garbage - maybe some pieces in brown that could be worthwhile
6032 - oh boy, another catapult - but the catapult bucket is cool.
6096 - not a bad battering ram, but three more catapults?
Overall - Town Junior meets Black Knight and everyone loses.

| (...) I agree (...) I think it might be transparent. Look at the way the one in the knights training dummy set looks. It appears to have light coming from behind or it would be darker. (...) Or Bull's Eye Barbeque sauce. I think there is a beer (...) (25 years ago, 10-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle)
