Re: Scans of the 2000 Technic Star Wars droids

(...) Huw, hopefully you'll have a few more hits now that your site is mentioned at www.theouterrim.com. Everybody, they have an update on that list of 2000 SW sets, so go check it out; it's (currently) the third headline from the top. Joel (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Criticisms of the new LEGO web-site

Another thing to point out: Even if people have platforms that support Java, many people disable it to avoid possibilities of destructive web sites (or like me at work, just getting tired of the whole browser getting blown away by Javascript bugs).   communications

Does anyone know where I could get some really good information concerning serial communication for the handyboard. I'm wondering if it's possible to have the handyboard communicate with a PC and vice versa. I'm looking for something wireless but (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Criticisms of the new LEGO web-site

Dear Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen and LEGO: I have just visited your new web-site and find that I am appalled. For a toy that has shown such strong ties with the scholastic community and such sensitivity for the children that use your product; this page (...)   Re: More name ideas

(...) Well again my 2 cents... Just to be anti-uniform for anti-uniformity's sake is not allways the way to go in my opinion. I am not suggesting some sort of Facist or Socialist standard that we all must follow and then Salute to the LEGO flag of (...)   Re: Object Orientation & DAT files & CLIPPING/WINDING

(...) These are all assumptions/specifications which *should* be agreed upon by the L-CAD community, especially parts-authors and rendering program-writers. Agreement is only needed if we want to re-wire the parts library, to encourage (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Busy Bee - in the flesh

(...) Altavista. Search query: +"busy bee" +chorlton. I had done the search a few weeks ago because someone had mentioned they had a web site (they do, but it doesn't have anything of use). Every time I hear people complain about not being able to (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

  Re: Utah Get Together Report

(...) Um, that was actually me. :-, (...) !?! By dang, you're right! Wow! Cool! :-, (...) These games were a blast! They were fun, fast, and had great re-play value! Come next get-together, I will be considerably better at putting together LEGO (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Several replies to CLIPPING / WINDING

(...) In fact you can, use as many as you like, but that it's not the goal. if you read my previous mail, following this one I'am replying, you got the ideia that no WINDING meta command is the ideia, if the .DAT is well optimized. If someone want's (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Best Star Wars set?

(...) Of course you could also buy 2 pod racer sets, and trade/sell them for what you want. (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: More name ideas

(...) Ahhhh, I like SLLUG! And next to a lake absolutely *filled* with salt... :-, SLLUGNET is really cool too. (...) Well, I don't speak for the others, but I'm decidedly anti-uniform. I'm not against the idea of calling ourselves a "LUG", but (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ut, lugnet.loc.us.ut.slc, lugnet.org.us)

Re: "Buying Lego" FAQ to link auctions to

(...) Wow. This is a *GOOD* list! I wish I could answer a few, but alas, my LEGO market savvy stops at Wal-Mart's toy section. :-P I plead, nay I beg, let's get answers for these questions! Some thoughts, but no answers: (...) This has always been (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.faq)

  Re: "cat whisker" trip switch

Robin, Sounds very simular to how I riged it. I had to run the speed at "2" Since the trolley is very small and pulls nothing. In fact I can "wheelee" it pretty easy. How do you determine when to decrease the voltage, is it merely timed? Otherwise (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Ohio get together??

I'm relatively new to the whole Lugnet scene, but I'd be interested in meeting some fellow Lego enthusiasts around the city/state. I'm in Westlake, a suburb of Cleveland, so obviously I'd prefer it being up here.   Re: AI and even more exiciting stuff

Re: Busy-Bee has 6347 Monorail Accessory Track!

(...) One thing you could get, I don't know what else you might need, but Mario Ferrari posted me a list of old service packs available from LEGO in Italy. One of them is 5040 Monorail 9v Motor for Space Track. (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.trains)

Re: AI and even more exiciting stuff / off-topic

(...) Ah, I almost forgot. I saw an applet somewhere on the University network that translates some higher language, possibly C or a subset of Java, into output suitable for universal turing machines. Not quite the performance king, but interesting. (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Busy-Bee has 6347 Monorail Accessory Track!

(...) However, given that I am not concerned about actually possessing one of the boxed sets, just want to build a monorail, could I use this accessory set to start building a monorail of my own invention? Say buy a couple of track sets, use a 9volt (...) (25 years ago, 18-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.trains)
