  Re: FA(eBay): blue hoppers

I did assume that it was for the possibility that he could make more than 30. However, he said that if I bid 30, I may well not get outbid, so I was curious. (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.market.theory)

NELUG Meeting to Prep for MindFest Next Week

There seems to be consensus that we should get together sometime next week to make sure we're ready for MindFest.   Re: FA(eBay): blue hoppers

(...) Sounds to me like he doesn't mind risking that they only go for 30. But he's willing to wait and see if they go higher, and is probably pretty sure they will. That's not too hard to understand, is it? (25 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.market.theory)

(...) No. 30 is the price at which I keep them. There is hysteresis here. The price I pay for one and the price I would sell one for differ.
