| Klaus is a class II Corporal in the maintenance unit for the substation, Hephaestus' Forge. This morning his duties call him to a lower tunnel where water pipes keep bursting (affecting pressure for lower excavation areas). He parks his vehicle in (...) | Two wide-eyed youth look at the spacecraft before them in awe. The pilot, in civilian clothes, is busy speaking with a small crowd about the importance of joining the academy so he pays no particular attention to the two young ones. "So why (...) | (...) WSJ recently (last december) ran an article on Mindstorms, titled "Lego's Robot Set for Kids Grabs Crowds of Grown-Ups". Front page of the second section. I doubt they're likely to run a similar article again soon, unless something really (...) (27 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people)

| I was interested to note the sad comments about Lego being just a toy! I am also a professional engineer, of 25 years standing, who enjoys recreational Lego. RIS is one of the more significant steps toward accessible home robotics in recent years. I (...) (27 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
