I did something similar to this when I was messing around with animation back in high school. A friend and I were making an ice planet movie(it never got that far) and needed sets. I built a few by first making a frame out of 1x2s about 2x3 feet. (...) (27 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

I've used a very light aluminum air freshener can called OZUIM. It's about 7-8 inches in length and a little over an inch in diameter. My guess is it is about 3 to 4 times the internal volume of the blue tanks. By removing the spray nozzle and using (...) (27 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Embedding plates, that´s a good idea. For bases etc, I thoguht that I´d build the model on it´s own baseplate, then just put it on the display, like it´s done in the catalogues. I don´t know if it really is necessary to embed plates, if you can make (...) (27 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

I just got this idea that I´ll try soon. By using papier-mache, some glue and sand, you could build a planet plate to play and display your space models on. This would be especially cool with classic space. You form the landscape, spread glue on it, (...) (27 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

The 2x2x2 white "skirt" slopes in the Space Port set are not preprinted, the printing is a sticker. There is a fire set which has them in red, but I don't know which it is. I have 8 of these in white and 8 in black (undecorated, not witch skirts) (...) (27 years ago, 6-Oct-99, to lugnet.castle)
