Re: Investment for a home layout?

(...) Honestly I wouldn't even think about switching 9V if you don't already have a bunch. The IR track is far more versatile (and you can even build your own) balanced by the downside that you have to hide a battery box for power. Save your money (...)   Investment for a home layout?

I am using Bluebrick to design an abstract layout at 4.5m x 2.5m to simulate my home suburb. What I am trying to decide on is do I invest in the 9v track, use the current RC track (I have a fair bit thanks to the sets I have bought eg: 7939), or is (...)   Why quads? Re: L(EGO)Draw parts - 4th batch

(...) I realise this is largely off-topic to the oriinal thread but I've always been curious why the use of quads is encouraged when just about every other format and rendering engine sticks to triangles. So the part author merges triangles into (...) (14 years ago, 16-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

  Re: Advice on hair pieces

(...) Actually original parts only have triangles and have been merged by stl2dat (the 4th batch used a different concerter and no triangle to quad merge is done). That said, I had a look at m62696, there are only 5 non-coplanar quads, all within (...) (14 years ago, 16-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Advice on hair pieces

I've moved on to looking at part 62696, "Minifig Hair Ponytail with Long Bangs" (x1930 on Peeron), and I found the part needs a lot of cleanup. (So does 30475, which surprisingly has received no cleanup at all desipte its submission to the tracker.) (...) (14 years ago, 16-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: SRW Scenic Tours: Burning the Midnight Oil

(...) That's really nice, Tony, but it leaves one wanting: wanting to see more detail of the actual MOC! I realize that it is an evening scene, but heck, and really, is there anything Photoshop can't do? I'm imagining an engineer standing in the (...)   Re: PCC Street Cars and NJT PATH Train

(...) Are you sitting down? A friend even talked me into signing up for Twitter! Relax, though; I've never been to the Twitter site since then:-) I don't actually use FB that often, either (Maybe once or twice a week) (...) Lol (...) Well, there's (...)   Re: L(EGO)Draw parts - 4th batch

There is one more thing to add to Joshua extensive explanations: coplanar triangle pairs are not assembled into quads. I advocated for that, because it offers the maximum flexibility when splitting into subparts or adjusting vertices position (no (...) (14 years ago, 16-Sep-10, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

  Robot Competition at BrickCon 2010

This year's robot competition at BrickCon will be a racing competition. Build and program a robot able to race around an irregularly shaped gradient track while avoiding obstacles on the track. The track is approximately two feet wide, with black in (...) (14 years ago, 16-Sep-10, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon, lugnet.robotics, lugnet.org.us.smart, lugnet.events, lugnet.announce)
