Shipping options from US to UK

I am about to ship a medium sized set (about 16.5"x11.5"x2.5" and about 3 pounds) to the UK from the US, and am wondering what cheaper options there are than US Post Office Air Mail. The USPS rate is $16.80. UPS and FedEx are over $60. I know people (...) (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.shipping)

Re: Southern UK LEGOfest - 18 September

Jon, the more I read, the more I really wish I could make it. I'll have to persuade my wife. Perhaps I could pop in for a few hours, 10.00 till 12.00 on my way to Gatwick? ...Ummm. On the off chance I maybe able to make it,I have a load of loose (...) (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

(...) This is in fact used for some industrial robots (welders, etc) on assembly lines. It also seems a lot like the motion control camera systems pioneered by ILM for Star Wars. (...) Wow! It IS Glen or a very high fidelity facsimile. Well, I'm not taking my feedback back, not that you can anyway. We've been through this and I think that while suckers don't deserve an even break I just don't think that people I LIKE should (...) (25 years ago, 8-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)
