Re: Has Anyone Tried This and Will it Work?

(...) I had a similar idea a couple months ago, but it was more in terms of making 9v steam trains more bump-resistant. See, we did a layout earlier this year where our tables weren't 100% perfectly level. One of the guys had a steam train, which, (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LPub Bad results with LDView

(...) The partly colored parts indicate LDView is having troubles, not LPub. (...) LPub's communication of what to render is done through LDraw files in the <yourmodeldirectory>/LPub/tmp directory. Those files should simply be the parts (up to a (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.cad)

Ryan Rubino's: Battle of the Leviathans

Ryan Rubino was having posting difficulties so I offered to post this magnificent creation on his behalf. Again, I had nothing to do with the build, it is all Ryan's work. Enjoy, and don't hesitate to leave some feedback, I know Ryan will be (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: LPub Bad results with LDView

(...) Well I guess people should understand that LPub 4.0.0.2 is a moving target. It is not meant for general consumption, but people can take a peek at: www.kclague.net/LPub..._setup.exe It is still changing (bug fixes) on a regular basis. Caveat (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Aw, no SNOT?

(...) Pick up a copy of BrickJournal. There's now an ongoing article about SNOT techniques. You can also look around for presentations from James Mathis and/or Holger Mathes (aka "M and M"). Scott (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.events.brickworld)

  Animated Lego pirate drinking song

I have recently completed an animated Lego pirate video, based on a song from the famous comic opera "The Pirates of Penzance", where the pirates are having a drunken celebration! Many people have said how much they enjoyed my little film, including (...) (15 years ago, 4-Jun-09, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.animation)

  Re: Aw, no SNOT?

I know how important it is for many people to have no studs showing on anything they build, but that being said and since this is just my opinion, please take it for what it is worth, I personally do not see the need to cover every little stud (...)   Aw, no SNOT?

This being my first Lego con, I was looking forward to learning a bit about SNOT building techniques; I'm always floored when I see examples of it, but never feel inspired on how to do it myself. I guess there's no presentations or workshops about (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.events.brickworld)

Re: Has Anyone Tried This and Will it Work?

(...) I think the real intent was not so much installing a second motor, but actually powering the PF motor, or even a second PF motor from the 9V rail.   Re: LPub Bad results with LDView

(...) uses the opengl hardware on the video card to do the offscreen rendering. Maybe the card is running out of memory at the higher dpi? What does LDView report about your opengl driver? Maybe that'll provide a clue. (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Has Anyone Tried This and Will it Work?

(...) Interesting idea, Clifton. I would be very interested to see if this works and if it is 'safe' for the motors. One thing to keep in mind though is that 9V motor failure tends to be more tied to the internal power leads that connect the wheels (...) (15 years ago, 11-Jun-09, to lugnet.trains)

Re: LPub Bad results with LDView
