LEGO RCX (Line & Light Follower) & NXT (Fighter)

Hi all, I just upload two articles of three LEGO robots I've made, 2 RCX able to follow a light and a line, and one NXT to fight sumo. Right now I've just "clean" the code of the line follower, as soon as I'll make the other code available I'll post (...) (16 years ago, 3-Oct-08, to lugnet.robotics)

  12 Tooth bevel gear case

I am having the hardest time coming up with a gearbox that allows a 90 degree turn using the 12 tooth bevel gears or conical wheels. Every time i try to make one, the gears skip, or simply snap. Does anybody have a small, simple, home made version (...) (16 years ago, 2-Oct-08, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Voting for October 2008 contests is now open

I see that Philo has already modeled the new Power Functions parts, including the linear actuator. That's a pretty fast turnaround. :) (16 years ago, 2-Oct-08, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle

Here is the finished frame. (URL) you look at the other pictures in the photostream for the ship (yeah, it's a spaceship) you'll see the paneling on the frame and a mockup of what the paneling looked like on the ship before i had a frame. The (...) (16 years ago, 2-Oct-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle

(...) The arc in question only covers 75degrees (5 panels, the first starting at a 15 degree angle). i managed to make it effectively with the suggestion of triangles out of technic pieces. triangles made of two 1X6 technic bricks and one 1X2 brick (...)   Re: A simple but colorful sea diorama

Innovative and cool. I like this a lot, there seems to be food for thought and accompaniment for chips everywhere you look. Great work and God Bless, Nathan (16 years ago, 2-Oct-08, to lugnet.aquazone, lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: Stingray- Aquatic Strike Mecha

(...) Nicely understated, and a very nice concept. I like the fluidity of the design, and it is great to see a sub MOC again. I'm cross posting to .aquazone to celebrate. Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan (16 years ago, 2-Oct-08, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, lugnet.aquazone)

  Re: LPub4.0.0.1 available

(...) On Windows (sorry, Jim...) you may use PDFCreator ((URL) It is used as a virtual printer that can output PDFs but also various image format. So you can "print" your instructions with it and create images of any size. Philo (16 years ago, 2-Oct-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle

(...) Further measurements show that connector #3 is 22.5 degrees - this means you can use these to make a jointed 90 degree arc with 5 panels (the ends would be perpendicular to each other). Would this meet your design requirement? (16 years ago, 2-Oct-08, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: LPub4.0.0.1 available

(...) I think that would be useful, too. Based on past correspondence with Kevin, I think it is planned but just hasn't happened yet. What I do is just open the PDF in Preview and save the pages as PNGs. That's how I made the instruction images I've (...) (16 years ago, 2-Oct-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle

(...) It doesn't need to be exact, just repeatable. I need to make an armature of 4 or 5 successive 15degree "turns" to support some panels that are making sort of a jointed arc. I'll give the technic pieces a try. Almost jumped for joy at Nick (...) (16 years ago, 1-Oct-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: need to make a 15 degree angle

(...) If so, 45-30=15, and I know there are plenty of ways of make a 45 degree angle. Just arrange the 30 degree connector against a 45 degree connector, and presto! 15 degrees. DaveE (16 years ago, 1-Oct-08, to lugnet.parts)
