September 27th SMART meeting at Redmond Library

The next SMART meeting will be held at the Redmond Regional Library on September 27th from 2 to 5pm. We'll be getting our SMART-Bot City display ready for BrickCon, which takes place on the following weekend. So the mini-challenge is to build an (...)   Re: BrickFair thanks you!

Todd - Congratulations on a successful event. And, while I was unable to attend, I was thinking of the fun I was missing all weekend long. I know how much work you put into making BrickFair a success (I think I have been through it myself) and I (...) (16 years ago, 9-Sep-08, to lugnet.events, FTX)

  Re: Default LPub project settings.

(...) I very intentionally made LPub 4 know nothing more than the preferences you set when you fire it up. This means that everything else is stored in your LDraw files, *not* in some defaults database. The reasoning is that if you try to give your (...) (16 years ago, 9-Sep-08, to lugnet.cad)

Here's my latest train MOC. This is an ATSF Piggy-Back Service train... (2 URLs) Here's the model it was based on: (URL) Mark (16 years ago, 9-Sep-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Default LPub project settings.

(...) Hi Dean, I recommend you create a submodel with all the defaults you want, and no steps and no parts. See if you can use that submodel as an include file. Kevin (16 years ago, 9-Sep-08, to lugnet.cad)

  New Red Chemical Car

I managed to snag some rare dark red brick from a grab bag at the local Lego store. The dark red pieces are from set 7665 (Republic Cruiser). I then combined them with some extra train parts and you get what you see below. The end result was this (...) (16 years ago, 9-Sep-08, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Why the Star Wars license isn't always good for builders

(...) HI I see what you mean. I never started collecting Legos to sell, I am an OCD horder by nature and there is just so much you can get with Legos. I really do not think that someone can corner the market on any Lego set as they make so many of (...) (16 years ago, 9-Sep-08, to lugnet.starwars, FTX)

Re: Why the Star Wars license isn't always good for builders

Hey John, I get what you're saying. Personally, I just don't see the point in buying a toy that you're never going to play with. I bought comics solely on spec in the late 80's for awhile, but I soon felt like I was wasting my money because I wasn't (...) (16 years ago, 8-Sep-08, to lugnet.starwars, FTX)

Huge Duplo Train collection and special parts up for auction on BL

I have put up 2 large Duplo collections for auction on Bricklink. Both listings have about 2 days left to go on them. The first listing is for a large Duplo train collection used only a few times. - mostly set up by me and my kids watched it as it (...) (16 years ago, 8-Sep-08, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: Why the Star Wars license isn't always good for builders

Wow, That's quite a rant. As a MOC'er, and not a collector, I will say that I agree with you that it is terribly frustrating to find that some pieces are so incredibly expensive or rare, whether due to Star Wars associations or rarity of piece. It (...) (16 years ago, 8-Sep-08, to lugnet.starwars, FTX)

  BrickFair thanks you!

(URL) BrickFair thanks you! Well folks, our event was a huge hit by almost any measure. BrickFair had 402 registrants (not counting the 58 confused public people who thought they had to register). Some even walked in Saturday afternoon to register. (...) (16 years ago, 8-Sep-08, to lugnet.events, FTX)

(...) Hey! I told you we were old-school programmers. Doesn't the whole WORLD count starting from zero now? I'm imagining that it's easy enough to fix. Oddly, I find that it takes me to the right line in the file in notepad2 anyway. It's (...) (16 years ago, 8-Sep-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Why the Star Wars license isn't always good for builders

(...) It seems like you are irked at others good fortune and smart buying. I mostly disagree with what you have said. Buying Legos and putting them away for the future does not preclude buying stocks and investing in your 401K. It is not an either (...) (16 years ago, 8-Sep-08, to lugnet.starwars, FTX)
