  Re: Poor man's Tachometer

(...) Would sandwiching a rubber band in place of the 1/2 height rings give you enough spacing? A single white band could probably be wrapped around both of the cross-axles, and it would keep the Lego-purists happy. I like your design--it's the most (...)   Re: Cleanliness of the pieces

I've found a nice cleaner that removes just about anything, including smoke smell - Lysol Kitchen Cleaner. It leaves a nice citrusy smell too ;-) If this is the Technic box, and you don't have time to clean them, I'll soak them for a day or 2 in it, (...)   Re: Where are all the boxes?

Since I'm new to this site, I got real courious when I saw this. What are these boxes? Are they a Lego bee? Where someone starts a box, and it goes from person to person each one adding pieces they don't need and taking those they need? How many (...) (25 years ago, 31-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

  Cleanliness of the pieces

All, I feel that we need to reach a consensus on how sanitary these boxes should be. Obviously, fingerprint oils and minor dirt and such should be expected. But suppose someone were to receive a box with, say, moldy bricks? What should that someone (...) (25 years ago, 31-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

  Re: mechanical clutches

I agree that the adder/subtractor is the way to go (at least for now) if you want any semblance of accuracy in your robots - I even started the thread on what was the best design for the a/s (remember LDraw?) from which this branched out. (I hope (...) (25 years ago, 31-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Where are all the boxes?

Although I have sent my box already, it did take me a couple of weeks. My work schedule got extremely busy and made it hard for me to do anything else. That situation also made it nearly impossible to get to the post office as well. LEGO comes (...) (25 years ago, 31-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

  Re: robotic rovers

It sounds like you guys are trying to re-invent the adder/subtractor system. Check out (URL) for some designs using this. In an adder/subtractor you have two motors, A and B. The wheels are then run through a mechanical linkage such that one wheel (...) (25 years ago, 31-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: 10x20 green baseplates

What colors are these 4x6, 4x10, 4x12, 8x8, 8x16, and 12x24 bricks available in? I have some 8x8 black, but are any of the others available in black, and if so, what sets are they available in?
