The more I thought about this, the more I liked this idea: I wanted to make a really high-mobility vehicle, but the problem with wheels is they are really stopped by steps greater than their own radius (well, partially, ignoring pushing from (...) (...) Umm... because *every* NXT can be equiped with a rechargable battery pack that works like a power port on the 1.0 RCX? So you run a power cable up Spike's... um... abdomen. And if the kid tears Spike apart, just make sure there's a camera (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

I wrote this up a few days, but apparently it failed to post. Right now UA offers a $219 fare roundtrip from LAX to PDX. This is considerably less than a month ago, despite their "winter sale" that started earlier than that. Also, there's a very (...) (19 years ago, 22-Jan-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: How long will train 9v motors last?

(...) Jindrich- SCLTC has lots of experience running 10 week shows that are frequently unattended by club members. For these shows, we run 4x5+2*5= 30 hours per week.   Re: Not inspired by any posting in o.t.fun

(...) This would not have the desired effect, even if Dave did borrow Chris' NXT. Dave would still know when a kid had been present, because the batteries in the NXT would be dead. Steve (19 years ago, 22-Jan-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Not inspired by any posting in o.t.fun

(...) Step 1 - warn co-worker that it would be nice if said kid keeps paws off. Step 2 - set up a NXT with US sensor to watch for an inturder, turning on a small concealed camera to get the evidence if needed. And if that doesn't work... Step 3 - (...)
