Re: Mindstorms USB connection and memory

(...) The European leading journal for electronics "Elektor" has presented a memory stick that can either be connected to a PC via USB or to a microcontroller via RS232: very interesting and inspiring: GE: (4 URLs) (19 years ago, 20-Dec-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Mindstorms USB connection and memory

(...) Well... technically it could probably be done, using a microcontroller with integrated USB host, and some interface with mass storage added to it. But that would be a HUGE electronics/software project! Philo (19 years ago, 20-Dec-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Mindstorms USB connection and memory

(...) Steve, Thanks! I was hoping it might work like the memory card in my digital camera. By the way, when your working on the next NXT, a memory card slot would be COOL! I can dream can't I? Sincerely, Todd (19 years ago, 20-Dec-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: The LEGO CD as a book, and other ramblings....

(...) I suggest you inquire at No Starch Press. They have published some AFOL books in recent years. Your CD as a book (even an abbreviated one) would make an awesome addition to their lineup and cross-selling among titles would be highly likely and (...) In article <JAJz0z.6FA@lugnet.com>, Todd Thuma <thumat@gactr.uga.edu> writes (...) Hmm. A USB connection between a host and a slave is not bidirectional. The host end supplies power and control logic which create the signals to manage the data (...) (19 years ago, 20-Dec-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Mindstorms USB connection and memory

(...) Yes, you're crazy. Actually, it's been suggested many times. However, it doesn't quite work that way. With USB, there's a master device, and a slave device. The thumb drive is a slave device. The NXT is a slave device. You can't connect a (...) (19 years ago, 20-Dec-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Mindstorms USB connection and memory

Mindstorms NXT experts, Okay, so I am working with my NXT and it occurs to me that the brick has a USB connection. USB connections are bidirectional meaning that information can go both ways. Skip ahead to me wanting to embed a USB memory key into a (...) (19 years ago, 20-Dec-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: "Centaur" mecha inspired by the "Chromehounds" video game

(...) Looks good Andrew. I like the color scheme. The Mech has nice, clean lines. The only thing I think I would improve apon is the part that joins the body to each wheel. Looks kind of spindly IMO. I'm curious, do you have a pic of a particular (...) (19 years ago, 20-Dec-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

  Re: Barbarian Prison Wagon

Awesome prison wagon, Josh. Those wheels are brilliant. Love the barbarian driver fig as well. And the black harnesses on on the white horses are simple but effective. Best of luck in the CCCIV! -Brendan (19 years ago, 19-Dec-06, to lugnet.castle)

  Seahorses Mosaic

(URL) My latest MOC is a SNOT mosaic. It's mirror images of seahorses facing each other. This was made as a gift for my sister and my brother-in-law :-) Since Seahorses were their wedding theme, they're pretty happy that I made this for them. :-) (...) (...) The building itself is 4 x 5 feet, so it will be about 20 or so feet x 5, best guess. I was really impressed with the level of detail it has. Joe (19 years ago, 19-Dec-06, to lugnet.events, lugnet.general, lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)
