Re: The Brick Testament - More Teachings of Jesus

(...) Hi, Karl. Thanks for your thoughts. By "most recent installment", I assume you're referring to the Teachings of Jesus stuff from a month ago and not any of the many King Saul stories I've done since then, yes? I suppose the George W. Bush (...) (19 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

  Re: Your LEGO Dream Set?

(...) Funny...I thought it was MY dream set! grin Also, I'm not sure how WE're supposed to judge whether or not it would be profitable. I think I can still provide something that would work, though: a scale model of a real-world structure...Miniland (...) (19 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

Re: The Brick Testament - More Teachings of Jesus

(...) Hi Brendan, I've been away from lugnet for a couple months... so this is (I think) fairly unrelated to the 69 message mania that went before (I didn't read it all). As usual, BPS, you have managed to put together some very well assembled and (...) (19 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

  Re: Your LEGO Dream Set?

(...) **cut** While I have many ideas and many dreams, I shall share a few... For me alone, what appeals to me in regards to LEGO is, I like the colours and I like architecture, so combinding them both into one is pretty cool. I would love a tub or (...)   Re: MCP - Mecha City Project

(...) This sounds like an awesome idea!! The combination of train/town/mecha to make a diorama of a war-torn city. Are there ay examples of what a war-torn building would look like in Lego? I can think of a number of games that would give good (...) (19 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: MCP - Mecha City Project

Hey, This looks great and I look forward to seeing the combined display. One question: The standard only talks about streets and sidewalks. What about the rest? I assume that buildings should be on 32x32 baseplates, built up to the height of the (...) (19 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Your LEGO Dream Set?

(...) Now there is a tough question! I think a Main Street-type set, but with more detail would be fantastic. Maybe with some shops, a bank, post office - these would really add some actual town buildings to all the police/fire/construction sets. (...) (19 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)

  MCP - Mecha City Project

The MechaHub has announced the specs for its MCP (Mecha City Project). The idea of the project is to build a large war-torn city to use as a diorama to display Lego Mecha at BrickFest 2007. (Yes we know it hasn't been announced but have faith that (...) (19 years ago, 21-Nov-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build, lugnet.announce, FTX) !

Re: Reed Switches was Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

(...) Good link! (...) I don't bend the leads on the reed switches at all. I use very small reeds, maybe 1 cm in length, solder directly to the straight leads, and then carefully trim them shorter. (Trimming is optional.) The switch is then (...) (19 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: More military MOCs

(...) Hi Magnus, Dave, I guess it's this element? (URL) It's called "Timing Wheel" or "Tacho Wheel". It was sold in a bag of 20pcs. in 2002 (where?) and comes in these sets: Pcs.   Re: More military MOCs

Dave, (...) Thanks for your kind words. Interiors on any minifig-scale vehicle are tricky. because as soon as you want to fit minifigs inside, you start wrestling with all sorts of scaling issues. Ultimately I go for a compromise between aesthetics, (...) (19 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.build.military)

Reed Switches was Re: Has Babylon Fallen?

(...) Miniatronics makes nice (URL) switches> that seems to work well. (...) Yes, you have to grab the lead in wire up close to the glass envelope with a pair of needle nose pliers, and, while holding the pliers you bend the wire. (...) Those are (...)   Lucca Comics

Bricks a tutti! (19 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.org.it.itlug)

  Re: More military MOCs

(...) I think that I like these quite a bit! The color scheme is rich and eye-pleasing, and I particularly like the design of the treads. Also, the presentation is good and gives a nice view of the the vehicles from all sides. I also like that you (...) (19 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Your LEGO Dream Set?

(...) As well as keeping the price down by using (theoretically) less-expensive plates vs. more-expensive bricks. If it's huge and costs $500, nobody will buy it, but if it's a regular-size globe like you see in schools, I can see that going for (...) (19 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)
