(...) Yes, the buffer beam is a brighter red. That pic, with the light on it but not on the body side, shows the difference a bit clearer than some of the pics I found. (...) Yellowing may not just be due to sun. A few years back, I opened some sealed sets that were from the 70s. The GMLTC had our layout set up at the Minnesota Transportation Museum's Jackson Street Roundhouse for several months, it just about destroyed the club.
