Hi guys. As you might have heard, I recently had to turn off someone's posting privileges[1]. I really don't like doing that sort of thing. So, in an effort to cut down on the likelihood of trouble in the future, let's go over a few basic things (...) (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.build.mecha) !

(...) No. That does not work. I've been able to find only one functional difference (improvement) you can clearly see here : (URL) That square limit how deep, Technic bushes for instance, can be "studded"; preventing it also to be "angled". As far as I know, thick lines in OpenGL are drawn such that a section perpendicular to the line direction is all drawn at the same Z depth. So (...) (...) Is this a functional difference? It looks like something (a 1x1 cone, maybe?) should be able to stud into the center of that square. The only 2006 sets I have with part 3747 (7893 and 6205) have the older version. (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.parts)

Interesting... On one hand, its well-built, and the design elements closely match the intended model. The torso is off, but that can easily be fixed. if the legs and arms were extended slightly, this would be absolutely amazing! On the other hand, (...)
