Re: 9V Train Motor Being Discontinued?

(...) Ergh, didn't they set up some kind of Ambassadors or GlobalAFOLs or something comprising people who are supposed to relay this kind of info back and forth between TLG and the great unwashed masses? I think if anyone knows who any of those "in (...) (20 years ago, 28-Mar-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 9V Train Motor Being Discontinued?

(...) Ross- Gee, I've despaired of getting any 9V electric plates for a long time. Last I look there were some in Spain or Hungary, but that was about it. I wonder how someone in the US places an order in France? (...) Ross- OK, so "almost no". (...) (20 years ago, 28-Mar-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: 9V Train Motor Being Discontinued?

That may all be true (but I would point out that last I heard, Lionel is alive and well, yet there are folks who only do vintage tinplate Lionel), but my main point is that by chosing to be 100% pure to a single manufacturer, we are totally at the (...) (20 years ago, 27-Mar-06, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Lego Creator Show - Sydney - 11/4 - 7/5

(...) Well, as much as would like to say this is part of my work as Ambassador, I must admit that this was not a formal Ambassadorial function. I am passing on information I received as a member of the Lego (World) Club, from Lego Australia. While (...) (20 years ago, 27-Mar-06, to lugnet.loc.au.nsw.syd, FTX)

Re: IRON MECHA - The Qwelder Mech - FOR SALE

(...) Dear all, In light of Eric's refusal to respect other people, copyright law or the Terms of Service of Lugnet I would respectfully ask anyone who was considering purchasing one of Eric's creations to please not do so. Thanks you, Tim (20 years ago, 27-Mar-06, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, FTX) !

Re: IRON MECHA - The Qwelder Mech - FOR SALE

(...) Auction posts are unwelcome in ALL groups unless the group explicitly welcomes them, and .build.mecha doesn't explicitly welcome them, so I see no problem with Dave's sentence. And as .build.mecha does not "explicitly not welcome" them, I (...) (20 years ago, 27-Mar-06, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, FTX)

  Re: Lego Creator Show - Sydney - 11/4 - 7/5

(...) Wow. Thank you, Richie. You do so much as an Ambassador. I really think other Ambassadors could take lessons from this communitarianism. Tim (20 years ago, 27-Mar-06, to lugnet.loc.au.nsw.syd)

Re: [murfled] - The Qwelder Mech - FOR SALE

(...) In that case I recommend you forego trying to sell stuff on Auctionbrick. It really isn't a high traffic site, and 'artwork' especially doesn't seem to sell very readily unless it has transparent baseplates. You'll probably get better prices (...)   Re: IRON MECHA - The Qwelder Mech - FOR SALE

(...) I don't care who your target audience is. Given the lack of sale of your last auction I'd say your target audience is zero which is exactly how much you should have posted in .build.mecha. Regardless of whether or not I think it will sell (...) (20 years ago, 27-Mar-06, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !!

Re: 9V Train Motor Being Discontinued?

(...) Well, this is an interesting question that is distilled into the LTC vs LUG debate. I think that there are distinctions between the two. The TCLTC's motto is that our layout is simply a background for our trains. Without the trains, the whole (...) (20 years ago, 27-Mar-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: 9V Train Motor Being Discontinued?

(...) Frank- I see two signficant differences between LEGO train enthusiasts and fans of defunct products from defunct companies: 1. TLC is not defunct and although it's had problems, we all expect it to recover and thrive. 2. While many (most?) of (...) (20 years ago, 27-Mar-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
