What to do if not selected for the NXT Developer's Program?

Since I'm coming to grip with the sheer number of people who applied and there are only 100 vacants, I need a plan B. I no longer own the Mindstorms set so at this point, I'm unforunately brick-free. Any suggestions? Is it worth picking up the (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) It depends on how rich the environment. If they are only talking specifically about getting us a crippled language then I would agree, but if NXT is really going to be engaging then in typical LEGO fashion they might present challenges and (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) It's probably a software cost issue. National Instrument would want more money for the more capable version of the software. (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

John, The reason I asked is that to get a Lego robot that is moving enough to even use GPS (read moving more than 5 yards, and outside no less) it will take a special build. Your *average* differential drive/steer robot with castor is not likely to (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) I totally agree. Try playing with GPS 'cos now you'll be able to! The RCX was so limited by only being able to read a single dimensional value with an effective accuracy of about 1%. I've played with GPS a fair amount too and your description (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  NY Subway train

  Re: Small town building reference

(...) I believe the Weiner mobile comment was actually an inside joke stemming back to a field trip to the Lego store while I was in Seattle. However since I’m horrible with names I could be wrong. Either way I got a chuckle out of it. ondrew (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) Well, THAT sure stinks. What's the deal on that? Have we hobbyists become second class LEGO citizens to the educational market? Why even bother to have two different release trails? LEGO, what's up with that? DLC (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Lions Gate Models instruction CDs: price drop

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have permanently reduced the prices on my instruction CDs to only $9.99 each (previously $19.99 for numbers 1 or 2, or $29.99 for number 3). Each CD contains printable instructions and parts lists for 7 or 8 (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.town)

Hi All, Since I missed the last meeting and will playing sax in a Big Band during the next one can anyone let me know what is up? I have heard rumours of a big Lego display in Sidney this week. Also are there any movements on the train display (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.viclug)

  Re: Why Java for Robots

It's funny, I've seen the words "Java" and "Robots" in so many subject headings that my mind turned it into JAWAS and Robots, which is what Jawas do, gather up scrap robots in the desert and sell them at Mos Eisely.... :-) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

  Pb with Lpub and submodels

Hello Orion, I have a problem while generating instructions for a model that uses several similar units, of course created as submodels. The submodels themselves contain a common sub-submodel. A simplified test mpd with similar structure is here: (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.cad)
