(...) Ah, sort of the 18-wheeler approach to carrying heavy loads. That's not a bad idea; certainly it solves the axle-support and skid-steering problems. (...) I love sets from this era -- pre-minifig, lots of pieces and/or functions in every set. Usually these go for less on eBay than minifig sets.
