It is good to see new LDRAW applications (Bricksmith 1.0, LDGLite 1.1.18) coming out for the Mac. However, I can't seem to get either of them to display some of the .dat files I've collected from various sources. I have viewed them using MLCad on a (...) (20 years ago, 27-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Iain, I have now built the better part of the "balance of power" game board. I was very worried about how I was going to make the board level. turns out, after a few test screws, I found the center of the 2x4. A few "extra" twists of the nut, and (...) (...) Beautiful idea! If I may add a slight suggestion... How about just writing some code for bricklink and selling it to them which takes an mlcad model and scans Bricklink for the best deal for those pieces or all pieces from one vendor etc. Kind (...) Took a crack at this, converted my yard tower design (as found in the Virtual LEGO book) as closely as I could (within reason, I switched to medium slope roof bricks since low slopes in a well rounded assortment in any earth tone are rare in that (...) (...) im about to START to make this game board. my FIRST step is to get the thing to balance (more or less) THEN Since the rules state the robot with its "side" up at the end of the game, is the winner, i see no reason why we CANT just put in a (...) So nobody has any problem with the beam not having a counterbalance, and it cartwheeling wildly out of control at the begining of every game, with the slightest offset in mass between the two robots, and guilotining the lower-guy's robot (...) I uploaded a model over lunch (about 3 hours ago now), and it's still not approved... which is reasonable, but I was rather hoping that they'd have some staff watching the incoming folder and approving things in more or less real-time the first few (...)
