  Re: Tripping a relay.

Quoting Dan Novy <dan@flashfilmworks.com>: (...) If you mean the coil, 9V is 180% of 5V rated coil voltage. The issue is the total power dissipated in the coil. If you only pulse the relay at a very low duty cycle at room temp, it won't ever build (...) (21 years ago, 23-Aug-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: A LEGO double-throw switch?

(...) Okay Brian - an electrical way...and remember, you didn't say "cheap" electrical way... So - we all marvel at the efficiency of Lego motors, right? You could put a motor at the tail end of the conveyor where the crate will hit it...it can be (...) (21 years ago, 23-Aug-05, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Joe Vig Meets a Lady (A Little Risque)

(...) I...honestly...don't like it. I just don't like the idea of putting innocent Joe into "adult" situations like this. I prefer G and at the most PG rated humor for vignettes. -- Nathan Wells (21 years ago, 23-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.town)

  Re: A LEGO double-throw switch?

(...) Ideally I'd like the package/crate itself to throw the switch, probably via pushing on an axle or liftarm extending from beneath. If friction is too low, I can always use a longer lever arm. Another alternative is to have the crate at the end (...) (21 years ago, 23-Aug-05, to lugnet.robotics)

In lugnet.robotics, Steve Hassenplug (& others) wrote: [snip a bunch of good ideas] Wow, ask a simple question... Currently I'm planning on using one switch that is normally off, and when the forklift delivers a crate it turns it "on-fwd". When the (...) (21 years ago, 23-Aug-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Money Truck

On Friday my son saw a "money truck" as he now calls them. He asked me to "help" him build one... which quickly turned into him playing while I built. He wasn't concerned with how it turned out as long as it looked tough and had shocks. But in the (...) (21 years ago, 23-Aug-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)
