Re: The Great Ball Contraption at BrickFest

(...) Nothing to apologize about - Gus was out there "on his own" because we wanted to make sure everybody *elses* modules got in. Gus has been videoed before. The only thing I wanted a video of with respect to that was the amazed looks on so many (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: Did LEGO bring these couples together?

(...) And, for the follow-up... Last weekend during BrickFest, we were shopping in the LEGO store. I took one of the new forklifts over to show her, and she said, "Is that mine, or are we getting two?" I went back and picked up another one. :) I'm (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.people)

Taking up 'Revenge of the Brick'

I've gotten a lot of interest in animation after showning several kids 'Revenge of the Brick' www.treehouseanimation.com/rotb including "The Making of...". I have several kids using MLCAD, L3PAO, and POV Ray to create walk sequences. This is all (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.edu)

Re: Small insight into LEGO CAD system

(...) "assumed" is too strong of a word. AFOLs have approached LEGO, in various ways, about sharing resources for CAD. The primary example of this is probably the "CAD summit" that occurred a few years ago.(1) People from the outside met with people (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LUGNET to change hands while continuing normal operation

(...) What is the lucky number range? Also, good news with the switching and the continuing and the such. ~Kevoh (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: All plastic track

(...) For the public exhibitions with model railway clubs that I've done over the last four years I haven't referred to "L-gauge" because no-one outside the Lego community has heard of it! Instead I have used "8mm:1ft scale" because that is the (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Vance Quantum, Galactic Hero

(...) I agree, even if Tony got the name wrong. ;-) That moonbase module and landing pad is awesome. I love the way it sits on top of a (short) mountain of moon rock. Jeff (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: seems like calum had a good idea....

(...) A classic Janey expression???? You must be kidding????? My mouth is closed... that has to be a rare Janey moment. Speaking of horrible pics, oh nevermind... Im sure you will all find them on your own. Janey "Red Brick" (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: LUGNET to change hands while continuing normal operation

(...) yes. you also are in the lucky number range. send me your addy for verification. I'm warning you though, these were found buried in boxes and are a bit "aged". and I'll have to add some 2-cent stamps to them. heh. -Suz (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Motorcycle Mosaic

(...) That's an interesting new take on the whole mosaic idea! If you value your old grey so much (don't we all), why not make your commissioned sculptures out of new grey? -Bryan (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

Re: Small insight into LEGO CAD system

(...) Did he mention an diferentiation between the system they use to design parts (that get sent to manufacturing) and some sort of system they assemble parts into models??? It seems to me in my limited exposure to the model deisgners that they (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Mini moonbase, anyone?

(...) Sure, I've already emailed the programming person. Depending on when she next gets a chance to look at it, I'll hear from her on the idea. It has the advantage of not being something we've done recently, that I remember, which is always good. (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.loc.us.co)

  Re: Mini moonbase, anyone?

(...) Well, you're in the Fort Collins area IIRC, so if that happens, you can come on over to my house sometime (or vice versa) and well have a mini-micro-moonbase with just whatever the two of us have built! Best, — Joe (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.loc.us.co, FTX)

  Re: Mini moonbase, anyone?

(...) I would vote for (a) or (b). I'm thinking cheap and informal since we don't really have much in the way of experience doing public displays. I'm making the assumption that we're coming into this late in the game. Maybe next year we could be a (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.loc.us.co)

  Re: Moonbase standard

(...) There are still other standards. A bunch using another standard have been brought to various SeaLUG meetings. As far as I know, there hasn't yet been any notable discussion of the merits of the various standards out there. -- Tony Hafner (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.space)

Re: Small insight into LEGO CAD system

(...) Dave wondered why we didn't start with LEGO's CAD. I responded that I doubted LEGO would have let us at the time. LEGO has hundreds of thousands of dollars invested in their CAD system, and that it would be foolish to give that away, allowing (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Motorcycle Mosaic

Hello again! Here is another MOC, a mosaic of a motorcycle. (URL) This was done for a client who wanted some glued models for her kids Lego themed playroom. This model measures 2 1/2 feet long, and 1 1/2 foot tall. It is built in the shape of the (...) (20 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX) !!
