  Re: Avoiding motor stalls

Update: there are now two motors driving this thing. They each have an 8 tooth gear that turn a 40-tooth gear placed between them -- instant torque, but less output speed. I put another 40-tooth gear on the same axle as that one and connect that (...) (21 years ago, 18-Jul-05, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: 6 wide autorack

  Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) Maybe my Toy Fair pics? It was definitely featured at Toy Fair ... (...) I too hope that, and sort of expect that maybe they will, based on nothing more than a hunch and the way they were talking at Toy Fair. (21 years ago, 18-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  Re: 6 wide autorack

(...) Hey Tom, I really like that. I am a _very_ big fan of autoracks, so I just might have to experiment with you technique. Now, if only we could get transparent plates to put behind those grille tiles. I just love the way you can see the cars and (...) (21 years ago, 18-Jul-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: LUGNet shut off

I'd hate to see Lugnet go myself, though I'd be lying if I said that I don't somewhat miss the good ol' days of rec.toys.lego. -Josh (21 years ago, 18-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Poet and animal sculptures

(...) Both of these are wonderful. Judy you seem to have a very distinct style and approach to your sculptures. The sea turtle has an amazing use of colour, (as do many of your other models) and a very pleasing shape. Emily, is in a perfect pose and (...) (21 years ago, 18-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: Poet and animal sculptures

Hello all, I have two new sculptures. A model of Emily Dickinson, who lived in my hometown of Amherst, Massachusetts: (URL) model of a largish sea turtle (alpha version?): (URL) you enjoy. Judy Miller (21 years ago, 18-Jul-05, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.build.sculpture) !

  Re: The Brick Testament: Jephthah!

(...) Bruce, I don't think that is sculpy. Take (URL) this> from Travis's BrickShelf gallery. The two beards are identical. I don't want to start rumors, but I think these were prototype LEGO designs that BPS has gotten his hands on one of them. (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)

Re: The "Who's Attending BrickFest" list

(...) Well I'm not getting the full list. My list stops in the K's, no matter how many times I refresh. JB (21 years ago, 17-Jul-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

  Re: 8421 first impressions

(...) Could they be for the alternate model? I only have one set and its staying built for a while so I haven't looked at the alternate. JB (21 years ago, 17-Jul-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: 8421 first impressions

(...) Took me six hours to build this beast (I always had a rate of ~300 parts per hour when it comes to Technic models). I’m 100% sure I’d followed the building instructions correctly, and in fact have a perfect and fully functional crane truck. (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jul-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Train and Town @ BrickFest

Hi All, Well as we get to within 4 weeks of BrickFest the building frenzy begins. As usual we will have a train layout (with some room for train MOCs) and a separate area for Train and Town MOCs if we have an over flow (which is a good thing!). It (...)   Re: Joe Vig Contest Entry - Jedi Temple

(...) -snip- (...) Not my thought at all, I was trying to point out who it seems. Personally, I think we should all drop this and let the judges make their determination. (21 years ago, 17-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette)

Re: Joe Vig Contest Entry - Jedi Temple

(...) I raised those concerns because I think everyone should be able to input on the matter. As for the contest itself, I believe, as I said earlier, that the judges will do their job right. But for the vignette "standards", it should be clear what (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette)

Re: LSC - request for defining a WORKING connection database standard

I'm not sure where this standard definition is at these days, or whether it could be used to automate what I'm doing by a clever MetaWiki robot coder, but I (and others) started capturing some connection information in BrickWiki ( (URL) ) You can (...)
