I raised those concerns because I think everyone should be able to input on the
matter. As for the contest itself, I believe, as I said earlier, that the
judges will do their job right. But for the vignette "standards", it should be
clear what is and what is not a 8x8 vignette when you have a structure that
extends for 3 studs on each side only 1 plate higher than the base itself for
the only purpose of not being flat on the ground level to respect the 8x8 rule.
I'm not judging here. Ryan is right, the columns add a lot to hs MOC and I like
the MOC a lot. I want in no way discredit his work, au contraire. But rules
are rules. I agree, this one was pretty vague. Hence my intervention to let
people discuss it for future references.
The vignette world is fairly new and flourishing. These issues are bound to
happen sooner or later, not that they have a great impact on our lives :-)
I hope this clarifies my intentions. I shall retire my own vignette from the
competition since Lenny thinks I want to win that badly.
