(...) LEGO string is a tri-twist. LSynth knows about twisting things (e.g. minifig-chain). LSynth's twist amount/fixed segment is configurable. We could decide what the sortest segment we would ever need and then maybe use 3, 6, or 9 cylinders to (...) (21 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.cad)

(...) I like Larry's string part better for several reasons. His braid is implemented as twisted surfaces rather than edge lines so it'll show up in both LDRAW and POV. It also uses many less poly's so it'll draw significantly faster. And finally, (...) (21 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Those certainly are advantages. I just crashed MLCad trying to use it in a model so I could play with the color so it took me a while to look at it. Honestly, I don't think it does any better at modeling twisting than I did. I at least have (...) (21 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.cad)
