(...) I like Larry's string part better for several reasons. His braid is implemented as twisted surfaces rather than edge lines so it'll show up in both LDRAW and POV. It also uses many less poly's so it'll draw significantly faster. And finally, (...) (21 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Those certainly are advantages. I just crashed MLCad trying to use it in a model so I could play with the color so it took me a while to look at it. Honestly, I don't think it does any better at modeling twisting than I did. I at least have (...) (21 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.cad)

I need geek (said in a totally respectful manner) help please. I know this is totally off topic, but since im the pc "guru" in my circle (yeah I know, pathetic) Im turning to rtl for help here. (...) I can think of a way to deal with different coloured strands. You rotate each element (with the multiple-colours defined on it) around the gradient of the position of each element, increasing the angle as you go along. I can send details on (...) (21 years ago, 26-Apr-05, to lugnet.cad)
