Re: What is the Best Starter Train Set? LEGO 65537

(...) Did this set ever show up again following Christmas? Has anyone heard rumors that it may resurface sometime soon? I've been looking into getting a lego train set (my first), and this set always sounded like a good deal. I actually have lots of (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Gearbox

(...) Since you're using a pendulum, why not use an escapement like a clock? The pendulum permits the release in one direction of a certain amount of rotation of the escapement wheel, which is spring or elastic-band powered. An important thing to (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: lgauge.com update (DCC)

(...) I had a look at DCC mods for Lego train motors, but people seem to have used N-gauge DCC decoders so that they can fit the decoder inside the motor casing. This may be good from a space saving point of view, but I'm not sure about the power (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: FL9 MOC

(...) Great looking. Nice and wide too! (I'm a fan of larger sizes) Did you have the drawings to help you build the engine? I see from the Model Railroader diesels book that an FL9 is 59ft long and 9ft 10ins wide, so in 8-wide perhaps it could be 48 (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Never noticed this before . . .

(...) Over the long term the colors most prone to yellowing (due to sunlight) are blue, gray and white. Of course with all the new Lego colors out, it will be interesting to see which new colors also have this tendency (obviously those that are (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.color)

It's always hard doing both big and small stuff. I think you did it well. Good job. Mark (21 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The two Drakes

These things are kind of goofy looking at the offset, but I really like the feel. In a similar way I didn't like the way of the ED-209 at first, these got a very viceral feel for me. They look like something straight out of a comic book or video (...) (21 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Another masterpeice, as to be expected! Details I like from a first glance: The (URL) floor>, simple but effective.
