  Re: Searching for Larry Pieniazek!!!!

(...) Search no more, people. Right now, he is here with us in Singapore! Members of the newly formed SingLUG (Singapore Lego User Group) had a great time with him last weekend. And will probably have another bash with him coming weekend. Here are (...) (21 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.people, lugnet.loc.sg, lugnet.loc.nl, lugnet.org.us.cedarlug, FTX)

Re: LEGO®Palooza...or I got by with a little help from my friends

(...) Joe, this is really a great example of what it's all about. I love that you were able to corral so many people into this event on such short notice. It's great to see this. I saw a story about this in a (URL) article> and immediately (...) (21 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.events, FTX)

  Topple Tower

Thanks to the suggestion of John (to use an RCX as a counterweight), I realised this was absolutely the way to go on this Topple Tower model idea I had. I have no wiring routing issues (it would have been impossible otherwise). Here's what I've got (...) (21 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No mention of scale in file format doc

(...) I agree but Stefan gave a compelling argument for 1 LDU = 4 mm so I changed the draft proposal. -Orion (21 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: rtlToronto19: Balance of Power and other upcoming events

(...) So back to the T, right? (...) Without saying too much, I think it might be a good idea for the moment to stick to Home Depot supplies. :-/ Iain (21 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: New Curator + MOC Highlight Update

That is great. It is clear that you have a love of building. I'm sure you help Mark and I am certain he knows your heart is in it. Congrats, I know you'll be a fine co-curator. Plus, as a sentimental gesture (from me in a manner of speaking). Your (...) (21 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.space)

Re: No mention of scale in file format doc

(...) No, Orion is correct -- for LDraw. By definition, LDraw parts have no gap. 1-stud-wide bricks are 20 LDU - exactly. We *really* don't want to get into a game of trying model real-world dimensions in great detail. That it, unless someone can (...) (21 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: rtlToronto19: Balance of Power and other upcoming events

(...) Yeah, the center of gravity of the whole assembly is ABOVE the beam, so the whole thing is by definition unstable. Weird. I didn't quite get it either. Are we missing something? My thinking is (and I built a quick model from LEGO) that we (...) (21 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: No mention of scale in file format doc

(...) I beg to differ. The width of a 1x1 brick is not the same as the spacing between two stud centres. Bricks have a small gap between them, whereas studs are very accurately placed on any brick with more than 1 stud. The LDU unit should be (...) (21 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: No mention of scale in file format doc

(...) Well, yes, and no. The bricks are not nearly as precise as the molds, but the dimensional tolerances for parts must certainly be a lot tighter than the difference between 1/64" and 0.4 mm. That difference is almost a full percent, so there is (...) (21 years ago, 2-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Classic castle layout a big party hit

My daughter's 8th birthday party was this weekend, so we put in some extra hours to get our collection of classic castle sets laid out nicely. Hi Mitchell, I think the part you're refering to is this: (URL) Accessory Torch" I got the idea from the guys (whos name escapes me, I'm really sorry) who put together this huuuuuge, 7 metre long car assembly system in Germany I think.
