Re: living in an ABS house?

(...) SNIP (...) Well, there's already (URL) this> and (URL) this>. In all reality, I think it would be cheaper to use conventional building materials rather than ABS. Labor alone would be a killer. -Duane (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Chicago House of Bricks is Coming!

(...) Good idea. I've also included .loc.us.il.chi as a regional area and kept .events in there because it is indeed an event. (...) Unfortunately no. Still the price for a weekend pass to (URL) 2BeCONtinued4> is comparable to other brick (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.events, lugnet.org.us.clb, lugnet.loc.us.il.chi, FTX)

(URL) Here are some you can start with. But of course the ablity to move and stack them becomes a bit limiting for the normal "do-it" yourselfer. jt (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  My first fully functioning GBC...

Well. Sure there's a competition in what, a week and a half... But I got my first fully functioning GBC!!!   Re: living in an ABS house?

SNIPPIFIED Certainly an idea that has gone through my head a few times as well, and as for your last question, it makes me think of foundations. How would a house with such a heavy weight (AFAIK, it *will* have a considerable wieght) be able to be (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: Mmm. This made my day....

(...) Wow. So they are bananas? And you had how many of these in a week? I'm impressed! I'm diabetic; I'd be in a coma after the first one! (...) Gonna be lots on sale after this year. :( or I guess maybe :) You're from Toronto and not into hockey? (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

  living in an ABS house?

A post in the Toronto newsgroup about building a concrete home has put an idea in my head, and now it won't leave me alone. Maybe spitting it out here will make the voices shut up. :) The idea: could some enterprising company (ideally, TLC) develop (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.general)

  CLB meeting this Saturday?

The third Saturday of the month would be this next one, Feb. 19th. Is there a CLB meeting planned? Thanks, - Joe (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.us.clb)

Re: Chicago House of Bricks is Coming!

(...) Sounds neat! But please include lugnet.org.us.clb (Chicago Lego Builders) in announcements about it -- seems like that's the most directly relevant group. I almost missed it, but just happened to see it on the home page before it was cycled (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.events, lugnet.org.us.clb, FTX)

Re: [OT] How large would Executor-class SSD appear?

(...) I dunno, it sounds like it makes sense. I mean, imagine how big a Boeing 747 looks at 50,000 feet (I get about 1/8th of a degree, assuming 70.7m length for a 747). Actually, considering how crasily long many clouds are, I wouldn't be suprised (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Article to appear in Sunday Daily News Feb 20th, 2005

Greetings, I just got word from the reporter that the article on adult LEGO fans in the area should be in the Sunday Daily News this week (Feb 20th, 2005). This is the newer of two daily newspapers in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Gail Meagher (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.org.ca.novalug, lugnet.loc.ca.ns.hal, lugnet.loc.ca.ns)

  Re: Inductive sensor?

(...) There is always a way. You would need a very high gain amplifier to pick up the small amount of voltage induced into the "wrapped" wire. If you are talking about LEGO motor wires, you would need to separate the pair of wires and only wrap (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Inductive sensor?

Assuming the signal to detect is DC, there would be only a very short pulse on the detecting line if a transformer (as You describe) is made from the two lines, (...)   [OT] How large would Executor-class SSD appear?

OK, this is WAY geeky, but I just thought I'd share... This was triggered by a cloud visible at sunset a couple of evenings ago. It was long and triangular, and took up about 5 "hand-widths" at arms length. I started thinking, how close (or far (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.off-topic.geek)
