Can someone who has one of these white gears tell me what they are for? How are they different from the other 24-toothed gears? Is there perhaps a one-way ratchet inside each one, or do they spin freely on the axle? (URL) (21 years ago, 3-Dec-04, to lugnet.technic)

By focusing on general sentiments of disappointment and broken promises, the (f)actual disadvantages of the color change were left out.
