We had a small but wonderful meeting last weekend! Gus showed a wind-up clock that he's been working on. He gave an interesting presentation on how several escapement mechanisms work, and also some useful pointers on how to reduce friction in gear (...) (21 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

I picked up the 'Dragon Tower' Duplo Castle set (4776) today at LLCA and it is a very nice set. I was worried that I would not like them, that they would be "to MBish". (...) There aren't any round corner 4x4 pieces, unfortunately. There are a few half arch 1 x 2 pieces, but those are fairly common in a lot of colors, I believe. Here are the pieces (specifically slopes) and their colors in the LEGO Factory (...) (21 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)
