What about a real time circuit that routed the output power to one of eight output ports depending on the PWM. (...) As for the diode vs FET, the package used for surface mount is going to be the same so there is no size penalty. The only thing I might change is the regulator, on battery powered equipment I would tend to a DC to DC converter like Motorola's (...) (26 years ago, 25-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics)
