(...) Dunno about anyone else, but I would look at the relative value of the sets, with the 5571 being figured not at the awesome clearance price you got but rather at its retail price. Just a suggestion but you could mount a Hall effect sensor somewhere near a rotating rounded part on the cage and glue a small piece of magnet to the rounded part.
