The motors drive the differential housings directly. You can chose whether to drive the large or small end of the differential depending on what kind of ratio you want out of it. The axles extending from the unit in tan1.html are used to drive (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Note that my fathers design (the 2nd one on the page) also allows you to get rid of having the offset gear on a 2nd level, but you would have to use two 16t gears and a 8t pinion. I am grateful to one and all creating these 'Variations on a theme' for the differentials! I saw Leo's initial design, ordered the extra differential from S&H (actually, it was a Christmas gift, lucky me!), and assembled it. Nice function, but much (...) The NatWest will open a Euro account, but you have to have a sterling current account as well. They will allow you to open both at the same time if necessary. There are charges on foreign currency accounts, but for 1999 these will be waived for Euro (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)
