Re: Variations on the "ADDER SUBTRACTOR" ("differtrans" ?)

The motors drive the differential housings directly. You can chose whether to drive the large or small end of the differential depending on what kind of ratio you want out of it. The axles extending from the unit in tan1.html are used to drive (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

We were trying to reduce the usage of the pinion gears because (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I am grateful to one and all creating these 'Variations on a theme' for the differentials! I saw Leo's initial design, ordered the extra differential from S&H (actually, it was a Christmas gift, lucky me!), and assembled it. Nice function, but much (...)   Variations on the "ADDER SUBTRACTOR" ("differtrans" ?)

Hi, fello legoroboticists. My son Michael has a web page via Geocities, where we decided to begin to assemble various lego oddities to share with other enthusiasts. Much interest has centered around the "adder/subtractor" transmission, a design that (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: UK prices of Star Wars

The NatWest will open a Euro account, but you have to have a sterling current account as well. They will allow you to open both at the same time if necessary. There are charges on foreign currency accounts, but for 1999 these will be waived for Euro (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: The end of the UK Shell promotion...

During a chat with the owner of my local Shell station, he told me that the Lego promotion had been 2 years in the making! Apparently, the plan was to launch in time for Christmas 1997, but some aspects were not in place to meet the launch deadline, (...) (26 years ago, 27-Jan-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)
