  Re: Parts substitution

(...) In this case, no problem. The computation of power is simple... Watts = Volts X Amps and ohms law is... Volts = Resistance X Amps Using the traditional I = current (they say it comes from the French word for Intensity) R = Resistance E = (...) (28 years ago, 12-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  HB books

Hello, Does anyone know what books are avaible about building robots with the HB as microcontroller? Thanks Emiel Agema (28 years ago, 12-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: HB files

Postscript files are generally for printing out. Therefore, you send a postscript file to a "postscript printer". Most HP Laser Jets are. Otherwise, you can use a program called GhostView. It's a viewer that has postscript capabilities. I think it's (...) (28 years ago, 11-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re:

(...) Now _this_ is a challenge. Presumably you've read the treatment on step climbing robots in Marvin Weinsteins "Android Design" ((URL) is out of print but still in libraries. It takes a _lot_ of energy to move up stairs. Basically you robot has (...) (28 years ago, 11-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  HB files

Help! I can't open any of the files at the cherupkha site. I presume these are "postscript" files. I've tried various apps to view them without success. I'm workin in a PC enviroment, no MACS or unix. I keep readin about the great libraires out (...) (28 years ago, 11-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: BotS on TV

As usual, this mundane matter of workin for a living has interfered yet again with the more pleasant pursuit of robotics (read: missed the show). Was this a PBS show? I would love to have seen this. Does anyone know when this might be shown again? (28 years ago, 11-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Actually this will work better. I built a grid sensor using (...) (28 years ago, 11-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: pressure sensors... non-conductive foam

(...) What a neat idea! Sounds nice and compact and simple to build too. Do you think it would also be viable to use a soft NON-conductive foam and then measure the capacitance instead of the resistance to work accurately with lighter pressures?   (no subject)

Hi, fellow (ro)Botters! Did anyone watch Scientific American Frontiers on Wednesday? If not, or even if you did see it, check out www.pbs.org . PLEASE SEE IT! there's a lot of good links, a complete transcript, and other goodies. But now, onto my (...) (28 years ago, 11-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re:

(...) yup, it was too short! (...) Phil, couple of questions for clarity. Does it need to go up and down the steps or just up? does it carry stuff? Why is step climbing needed? It might be easier to make a wall climbing bot...or a bot that can leap (...) (28 years ago, 11-Apr-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
