Keep reading young Jedi. LEGO Mindstorms has 4 "official" sensors: Light Touch Temperature Angle (rotation) These can be purchased thru LEGO Shop at Home and/or Pitsco LEGO Dacta. Indeed, your circuitry is interesting (I'm not sure though it would save time, since soldering can be pretty tedious...). But the challenge here is to make it out of Lego.
