Hmmm, for that price I can go to Bricklink and create a similar sized KILLER MOC™ of my own design.

What’s interesting to me is that I blanche at that price point, but I’ll spend whatever it takes to build my own. Go figure.

Wouldn't that be [KILLER MOKC] {of your own son's design}?

You must have access to cheaper stores that I do ;) No way I could build something that size at that price.

I’m with Tim, 2000+ parts for $140. That is extremely good if true. I was expecting $200 to tell the truth.

Well, most of the BL stores are in the US, and I try to avoid the shipping costs across the pond whenever I can...

Well, I have a LARGE pile of bricks with which I begin:-) I supply the common stuff; I only need help with specialty bricks or bricks in larger quantities. I tend to focus only on BL expenditures, not on the final, overall cost of a MOC (if I could even do that)

I have to agree with you John, about the pricing situation. For that money you can get quite a haul at Bricklink.

What I don’t like about the model is the windows. Granted the arches over them on the 2nd and 3rd floor give it a nice Victorian look, but what is with mixing bley first floor windows with white ones above? And what are those windows made from on the 2nd floor (below the arched castle windows)?

Mercifully this set doesn’t include the use of antennas and clear bricks to make windows.

TLG really does need to come out with some new windows. Good lord the toy of the century doesn’t even have a selection of windows that actually match each other.

Back in 1963 TEN PERCENT of all the different LEGO elements were WINDOWS!!!

Today it is less than 1/100th of 1% !!!

(Bringing up my lack-of-LEGO-windows crusade once again....) :-D

Looks like 1x2x3 thin walls to me.

They are indeed thin walls.

I totally agree with you. It seems that all my buildings have the either stacked 2x2 trans-black panels or the 1x4x5 large pane windows. Not much variety. They need to make a 1x3x4 double paned office building window. -Jim
